20-year-old Margarita Gasparyan of Yerevan is an amazing artist and a young woman we have had the pleasure to get to know well at the Atken Armenian Foundation. Over the past two years, we've proudly supported her training at the Komitas Conservatory, fostering her growth as an artist. This year, our gratitude extends to the generous support of Gregory Spendjian and Donna Cochran, a wonderful couple from Salt Springs Island, BC. Thanks to their kindness, we continue to empower Margarita to reach the height of her artistic potential.

You will surely remember the amazing performances she gave at our Zartonk Academy last year in Artsakh. This year has taken Margarita to great places, including national TV where she performs with the Naregatsi Orchestra and Artem Khachatur, who taught in Artsakh at our 2022 Զարթոնք / Zartonk Academy. Margarita is a prime example of when Armenian traditional folk music meets excellence. Our future as a people, depends on the success of talents like Margarita.
