Today is our foundation's namesake's birthday. Born in 1944, Dr. Atken Armenian was an educator, philanthropist, and a man who leaped at the opportunity to go to Armenia as soon as it became independent. He passed away, a victim to cancer, at the age of 63, in 2008 and left much work undone. He dreamed of continuing to help families in Armenia, particularly talented children in music. At our foundation, we try to emulate his spirit of charity and his understanding of the value of artistic creativity and imagination and the transforming power of art for Nation building, development and fulfillment.
Unfortunately, to make any meaningful impact, funds are needed. We will not be placing your name on a wall, a bench, or a building, and we will not promise you a place in heaven, but we will honour your donation to the fullest, and you WILL change the life of a young hard-working world-class talent. This talent WILL get the best possible training so that one day they make the Armenian Nation proud as bearers of its culture.
“Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.”– Albert Einstein
