Professor Arpi Hamalian's generosity towards the music talents of Armenia has no adequate words. We are happy to announce our scholarship winners for this year. The funds and instruments have been given already for the first semester in the hopes that for the second semester, we will raise enough funds to allow these students to continue their education. It was in many ways thanks to Professor Hamalian that we were able to hold Zartonk Academy at all. As you have already read, it turned out to be a momentous cultural event for the people of Artsakh this summer and a valuable educational experience for the 70 or so participants from Artsakh and Armenia. This year, we paid special attention to supporting folk instrument musicians, Artsakh music talents, and voice students. We also had a special prize for the best performance at Zartonk.
